Which blender has more power?
We conducted a Blend off between 4 popular high end blender models sold at retailers across America. We compared Blendtec vs Vitamix, two extremely powerful high performance commercial blenders, and Nutribullet vs Ninja, two high power mid-tier blenders, to see which blender has more power. The Results are below.
Blender Models for the Power Test
- For the hard blender blends you’ll want a blender with some power. The Blender Models we used for the More Power blend off are the Blendtec 725 Designer blender with the big 90oz Wildside jar, the Vitamix G Series 750 blender with the Low Profile Container, the Nutribullet Rx 1700 Watt blender, and the Ninja Mega Blending System. We added a whole beet and the pit of an avocado to each of the blender models to test their blender performance. The Results are below.
Why does Blender Power Matter..
- The test of a good blender design is how well it blends tough ingredients. Check out Will it Blend?
- A strong high powered blender usually has over 1200 watts, 2hp, and is able to break down and liquefy any ingredient you place into the jar. If you purchase a blender with less than 1200 watts, 2hp, then it might overheat or not push the blades hard enough to get through tougher ingredients.
- The ingredients we choose to use for the power test, you can find in the vegetable aisle at your grocery store. The pit of an avocado and a beet, have been known to break blenders and their blades.
How Much Power We Talking..
Blendtec Motor
Blendtec blender models offer blenders that are known for having the strongest motors in the commercial blending industry. There older models have 1560 watts, 3 peak horsepower and there newer more advanced models range up to 1800 watts. There blenders are known to over-power ingredients with no problem.
Vitamix Motor
Vitamix blenders are known for their durable long lasting design and well crafted machines. The older blender models come with a 2 peak hp motor that ranges from 1200 to 1380 watts, and their newer blender models can range up to 1440 watts. Vitamix blenders are known by chiefs around the world for being a great product for both commercial and home use.
Nutribullet Motor
Nutribullet offers a selection of blender models based on price. There are 3 nutribullet blender models to choose from ranging from a 600 watt, 900 watt, and 1700 watt motor. The Nutribullet Rx is the one we used in the video and the only one we recommend because of it’s high power 1700 watt motor. The lesser powered Nutribullet blenders will overheat easier.
Ninja blender Motor
Ninja blender models range in power depending on their price. The most powerful Ninja blender model is the Ninja Mega Blender with 1500 Watts. This is the one you see in the video below.
All 4 blenders we’re able to easily liquefy the tough ingredients into a juice. Each blender is equipped with enough power to go through the Pit of an Avocado and a Beet with no troubles.
About Blendtec blenders
Blendtec blenders are equipped with Big Fat Stainless Steel Dull Blade that creates a vortex with the ingredients inside the blender jar, and over powers and liquefies ingredients easily.
Blendtec has no troubles to quickly liquefy the Beet and Avocado Pit into a juice, it’s dull blades and high power motor design proved very effective for blending tough ingredients.

Vitamix attached a LARGE Sharp Stainless Blade to it’s blender container which can slice through any ingredient you place in the container.
Vitamix blenders can quickly liquefy the Avocado Pit and Beet into an juice, it’s powerful motor and blade design allows for a lot of control and power for various – juicing recipes – and – smoothie recipes, and had no troubles going through the beet and avocado pit.
About Ninja Blenders
The Ninja Mega Blender with 1500 Watts was able to liquefy the Avocado Pit and Beet easily.
It’s 3 sharp blades did a great job pureeing and liquefying the beet and Avocado pit into a drinkable juice.
The Ninja Mega Blender is designed the pulsate the liquids inside the container up and down to give it the best consistency.

Who Won the Power Test..
- We gave all of the blenders a tie for this blend off because they we’re all able to liquefy the pit of an avocado and a beet without any problem.
- Avocado Pits and Beets are the 2 toughest ingredients you will find at the grocery store. This proves that the powerful designs of the Blendtec – Vitamix – Nutribullet – and – Ninja Blender Models are able to liquefy any ingredient you place into the jar.
