Blendtec vs Vitamix best blender ice cream

Healthy Ice cream is a fantastic treat that Vitamix and Blendtec blenders can make which regular blenders can’t. Your ice cream can be ready in just 30 seconds.

Blendtec Ice Cream

Blendtec blenders feature Ice Cream at the push of a button. The automatic ice cream button does all the work for you, and most of the time it doesn’t need any help, as long as you add in the ingredients correctly. Ice Cream is one of the tougher recipes to make but because of the Blendtec square jar and dull blade design, the ingredients get pulled down into the blades through a vortex created by the jar design and processed extremely well, no chunks of ice or ingredients get left behind. You get a nice smoothie blend. The texture is rich and creamy.

Both the Blendtec Classic 575 and the Blendtec Design 725 blenders offer a button you can push to make your ice creams.

We found that the Fourside Jar works a little better than the Blendtec Wildside Jar because of it’s narrower base, the ingredients get blended more thoroughly. Both Jars by Blendtech can make ice cream but we liked the standard Blendtec Jar with the 3 inch blade more for this recipe.

The ice cream button runs for 35 seconds, slows down, speeds up, and stops on it’s own. You can simply push the button and walk away and the Blendtec will make the ice cream for you.

Vitamix Ice Cream

Vitamix offers blender models with digital controls and blender models with manual controls. All Vitamix blender models have a speed dial for manual control and the newer ones come with automatic features similar to the Blendtec blender. One thing we noticed when making ice cream in the Vitamix is that you have to use the tamper. The Vitamix container is designed to push ingredients up against the sides of the container where the ingredients fall back onto the blades, opposite of what the Blendtec jar does where the ingredients get pulled down. The Vitamix containers work well but we noticed that you have to use the tamper.

Pros and Cons of the Vitamix Tamper

The tamper allows you to push ingredients into the blades as the blender is running, something that the Blendtec blenders don’t offer in their standard or Wildside jars. The tamper is extremely popular among blender enthusiasts because most people don’t add in there ingredients correctly and they end up with a blender air pocket where the blade is spinning but nothing is moving. This is where the tamper shines.

Blendtec doesn’t have a tamper so you have to stop the blender and shake out the ingredients, usually by hitting the blender base on the counter a few times, then starting it up again. Still pretty easy to do.

The Vitamix tamper allows you to keep blending through your air pockets, which happen all the time, not just with ice cream recipes, but also with smoothies and juice recipes as well.

The best Vitamix Container to tamper with is the Low Profile Container, it’s wide base allows you to more easily tamper down the ingredients and get everything around the sides of the container down easily vs the Standard tall container which is much more difficult to tamper down ingredients if you overload the container.

One downside to the Vitamix Automatic Ice Cream setting which sort of defeats the purpose of having it is that since you will have to use the tamper to make the ice cream the automatic feature seems to be just for looks.

Blendtec vs Vitamix Best Blender for Juicing

Juicing is a less traditional use for Blendtec vs Vitamix top blenders, but Blendtec and Vitamix make a fair substitute for a juice extractor, plus you keep the fiber. Both make wholefood juice, mixing together fiber, pulp, seeds, and all. To make the same amount of juice as a juice extractor, these blenders require far less fruit and vegetable mass, and have all the nutrients of the foods as well! If you want a more true “juice,” you can strain the product to remove all the chunks. The high speed blending power that both blendtec and vitamix blenders have is able to liquefy the fruits and vegetables much more than a regular blender. You can get a similar consistency from a Blendtec or Vitamix blender as if you bought a juice from the store.

Vitamix Juicing

Though Blendtec and Vitamix blenders could never replace an actual juicer, the juice you will get will be easily drinkable with much more fiber and nutrients which provides more health benefits than a juice from a juice extractor. After testing the Vitamix blenders we realized that it’s not the blender that matters, it’s the Vitamix Container you use that matters more.

The Vitamix Low Profile Container with it’s wider base and bigger 4 inch blade can liquefy whole foods quicker and easier than the standard Vitamix containers. You can fit a Low Profile Vitamix Container on any of the Vitamix blender models. You can buy an older Vitamix blender for $300 and buy the Vitamix Low Profile Container and you will get the same results.

The same Blendtec Designer that costs $600 will produce the same juice as a Blendtec that costs $300 if you use Blendtech Wildside Jar. The Blendtec classic uses the standard 64 oz jar but you can upgrade to the Wildside Jar when you purchase any of the Blendtech blender models. The Blendtec Wildside Jar has a bigger 4 inch blade with a wider base which is better for juicing and is also easier to clean.

Best Vitamix Blender

Blendtec vs Vitamix Best Blender for Smoothies

Smoothies are the first use most people think about when purchasing a blender. So which blender makes the best smoothies? The truth is, both Blendtec and Vitamix make a great smoothie blender. The main difference is Blendtec typically takes longer to process a smoothie, due to its preset blending cycle. Vitamix can also take on more fruit or veggie material thanks to its secure gripper lid. Both Blendtec and Vitamix companies offer a variety of jars and containers for the best smoothie.  In all honesty, however, it would be hard to tell the difference between a Blendtec and Vitamix smoothie. Both are tough machines and ready to take on your smoothie challenges.

Vitamix Smoothies

For Smoothies we notice that each of the blending containers are more important than the actual blender. The bigger Low Profile Vitamix Container was able to blend the ingredients easier and quicker than the other Vitamix Containers and required no help from the tamper. The other containers we’re more difficult to blend the smoothie and required more effort and use of the tamper.

The Texture and taste from the Vitamix Standard blender container and the Vitamix G Legacy blender container we’re very similar with a slight advantage in taste going the the standard container, but the Vitamix Personal blender with the 40oz container had a completely different texture and taste that wasn’t as good, furthermore, it was more difficult to get the ingredients to get into the blades on the Vitamix Personal S blender because of it’s small 40 oz container. You will have to chop the ingredients into smaller pieces if you buy the Vitamix S Series Personal blenders.

The Automatic smoothie button is nice if you are using the bigger Low Profile Vitamix Container because it doesn’t require the use of the tamper and is able to blend large loads of whole foods without any help, so you can push the button and walk away, but, if you are using the standard 64 oz Vitamix Container or any other of the Vitamix containers you will most likely need to use the tamper to get the ingredients into the blades which totally defeats the purpose of having an automatic smoothie button, so it’s not to have the automatic features on the Vitamix blender models but only if you are using the bigger Low Profile Container.

Blendtec Smoothies

The Blendtec Jars seem to both work great for smoothies, both blender jars by Blendtec are able to process large ingredients without any help. The bigger Wildside jar is able to process the ingredients more quickly but the Blendtec Standard Jar also is designed to pull down and process the ingredients. The only downside to the Blendtec Standard jar is that it’s a little narrower so sometimes the ingredients get stuck on the sides of the jar in which case you’d have to stop the blender and shake the jar and then restart the blender, which really isn’t a big deal. The blender works fine and unless you overload the jar, you’ll be fine.

The Smoothie Button on the Blendtec blender runs for 40 seconds and changes speeds on it’s own, you can push the button and walk away, come back and your smoothie is done, just like the smoothie shops. Very Nice feature on the Blendtec blenders.

Blendtec vs Vitamix Best Blender for Soup Recipes

Soup is an easy task for both Blendtec and Vitamix blenders. A great features of these appliances is that their motors are powerful enough to heat soup, thanks to the friction of the blades. Within a few minutes, the blenders can have your raw ingredients blended smoothly and heated to a steaming temperature. Or, in under a minute, you can have a raw, cool soup. Blendtec is slightly faster, taking only 4.5 minutes to heat soup compared to the Vitamix’s 6 minutes. These homemade soups are much healthier than canned options. There are more nutrients, and less salt! Whether you pick Blendtec or Vitamix, both are a big step to improving your health!

blendtec, blentec, blendtech, blend tech, soup, soups, soup recipe, soup recipes, recipes, recipe, vs, vs., review, reviews, compare,

Blendtec Soup

We found that the Blendtec blenders can heat up soup a little bit faster than the Vitamix blenders, we think this is due to their 1560 watt, 3 hp motor and bigger thicker dull blades. The soup in the Blendtec blenders are quickly liquefied and heated, usually in 3 minutes. The Blendtec blenders come with a Soup Button which is automatic, very nice feature. The Blendtec Jars are made from Polycarobnate BPA Free Material so they are not plastic, making it safe to heat and cook recipes inside the jar. Blendtec also has a pulse button which you can use to chop ingredients into your soup after it’s liquefied, such as corn, beans, chips, and meats.

Vitamix Soup

The Vitamix Legacy G Series was able to heat and cook the soup a little quicker we think because it has a more powerful 2.2hp motor, than the older style Vitamix models. The older Vitamix style was almost equal in heating but the Vitamix Personal Blender wasn’t able to heat the soup recipe to a hot temperature. Cooking soups in your Vitamix is made easier on their newer blender models with the automatic soup setting which stops on it’s own. The Vitamix Soup Feature runs for 5:30 minutes and allows you to walk away without having to worry about the blender over-running. Average run time for soups in a Vitamix blender is around 5 minutes. Vitamix blenders also come with a pulse feature which allow you to chop ingredients into your soups once liquefied. The Vitamix containers are made from the same BPA FREE Poly carbonate material which makes it safe for heating and cooking soups.

Blendtec vs Vitamix Best Blender for Grinding Grains

Next, both blender lines are able to grind grains like a grain mill and make flour! Blendtec has a slight advantage, as both its Fourside and Wildside jars are able to grind dry goods, so there is no need to buy additional jars. The Vitamix, however, requires a specify dry-goods jar to make a decent ground product. While wet jars can do a decent job, the Vitamix Dry Container is specifically designed with a different shaped blade that circulates dry goods differently. With a dry jar, you get a finer, better mixture.

Blendtec Grain Mill

With the same jar and blade you make your smoothies, juices, and ice creams you can also make fresh flours. Blendtec advertises that you can use the same jar for everything. One Jar for HOT DRY WET AND COLD Blending, and they are absolutely right. Blendtec’s light weight 1.5 pound jar is convienent, easy to use, and is able to make fresh flour in less than a minute. You can grind any types of seeds and grains in your Blendtec Blender quickly and effectively, the consistency you get is fantastic and you can use the fresh flours for baking and cooking.

Grind on a slow speed for thicker consistencies and a high speed for more finer consistencies. Make sure the Jar is completely DRY before adding your ingredients. Use the manual speeds on the digital display to control your consistency.

Our favorite Blendtec Jar for grinding grains is the standard 64oz four side jar, the narrower base is great for dry goods. It’s also nice to have an extra jar for grinding grains because grains will scratch the jar and the jar will get cloudy. If you’re gonna get an extra jar, get the FOUR-Side Blendtec Jar for your Dry Goods.

Vitamix Grain Mill

Vitamix blenders have proved themselves to be effective and able to grind grains with the same blade and jar that they make smoothies, juices, and ice creams with, but Vitamix recommends getting their Special Dry Goods Jar for grains because the sharp blades on the Vitamix Containers will become dull if you keep using them to grind.

We noticed that the newer Vitamix Low Profile Container did the best and had the fluffiest and finest texture from all the other Blendtec and Vitamix Jars and Containers. The Blade on the Vitamix Low Pro Container is slightly thicker and seems more durable, and the container, as you can see in the video, was able to go through the ingredients quickly and very effectively, more so than all the other Vitamix Containers. The other containers we’re in fact much more difficult to grind grains with, we needed to use the tamper quiet and bit with the Vitamix Personal S Blender and even with the Vita mix Standard 64oz Container. We we’re still able to get a flour from the other containers but the Low Pro Container was by far superior.

Blendtec vs Vitamix Best Food Processor and Chopper

Blendtec and Vitamix both claim to be food processors, though neither is designed to be quite as good as a true processor. Both can chop small quantities fairly well. Blendtec’s Pulse button and dull blade does the job, though maybe not in the most aesthetically pleasing manner. Vitamix’s low speed is precise at chopping, far better than the Pulse blade, and is the victor in this challenge.

Blendtec Food Processor

The two blade design on the Blendtec blenders allows you to scrap out the ingredients much easier than most other blender models. The pulse feature is more responsive on the Designer blenders because you can pulse at any speed, low or high. The Classic Blendtec blenders have a set speed for pulsing and you want to be careful not to over pulse.

The pieces come out a little larger than the Vitamix blenders due to a bigger blade design. The Fourside jar might be better for chopping because the blade is just a little bit smaller.

Vitamix Food Processor

Vitamix uses a four blade design which makes it a little harder to scrap out all the ingredients from the bottom of the container, but it does chop the ingredients a little finer. The best Vitamix Container for Food Processing is the Low Profile Container, it is great for chopping and it’s wider base allows for you to scrap out the ingredients much easier.

Blendtec vs Vitamix Best Blender for Mixing

These blenders really can do everything; Blendtec vs Vitamix blender models can also be used as a mixer.

  • This means you can create batters and breads quickly.
  • Blendtec even has a specific button for the process.
  • The Vitamix’s recipes, on the other hand, usually require you to blend the wet ingredients ahead of time.

Blendtec vs Vitamix Best Blender for Cleaning

Oh, cleaning. Probably the most dreaded part of using a blender is taking apart the machine piece by piece and cleaning gasket, blade, jar, and lid. But thankfully, Vitamix and Blendtec make it amazingly easy to clean!

  2. All you have to do is add hot water and a little bit of dish soap, and blend!
  3. Stickier jobs may require a little additional scrubbing, which makes the Blendtec the easier-to-clean blender.
  4. There’s no risk of cutting yourself scrubbing its dull blades!
  5. Regardless, it is vital to clean as soon after use as possible.

Different Blender Models come with different blade designs which results in easier cleaning. Both Blendtec blenders and Vitamix Blenders offer a larger jar which has a bigger capacity and bigger blade. The Blendtec Jar is the Wildside Jar and the Vitamix Container is the Low Profile Container.  Regardless of the blender model you choose between Blendtec vs Vitamix machines, you will be able to get the upgrade. When ordering your blender, make sure to get the bigger jar.

Blendtec vs Vitamix Best Features and Controls

Vitamix and Blendtec blenders are powerful devices, but thankfully Vitamix’s standard home models draw less power. They operate at 11.5 amps/1380 watts and 2-peak horsepower motor.

Next generation models come at an advanced 2.2-peak horsepower. Blendtec’s rank is only slightly less impressive, coming at 13 amps/1560 watts with a 3-peak horsepower motor.

Blendtec blenders come with 10 different speeds, with a minimum of 4,080 RPM and maximum of 28,000 RPM. This translates to a blade that can spin up to 310 miles per hour. Vitamix, too, has 10 different speeds, but comes with a greater range.

The lowest speed is 500 RPM, and the highest is 37,000 RPM. Vitamix, therefore, allows a great variety in textures for your output.

The Blendtec line of blenders usually features lighter and smaller blenders than Vitamix, ranging from 6 to 8 pounds. Each blender is 15 inches tall.

  • To compete with this, Vitamix has been working on producing shorter jars, which are 17 inches tall instead.
  • Vitamix, on the other hand, makes blenders than weigh about 13 pounds, each a minimum of 21 inches tall.

Blendtec’s compact design saves you valuable countertop space, and fits easily under most kitchen cabinets, where as Vitamix’s heavy design will be likely to never leave your counter top. The lightweight allows for easier transport as well.

  • Another important part of the blender’s design is the level of noise it makes. Both Blendtec and Vitamix pack a more powerful motor than your average blender, and make, therefore, more noise.
  • Blendtec’s highest speed is a little noisier than Vitamix’s, but both are otherwise equally loud.
  • Each blending cycles last typically from 1 to 2 minutes, so at the very least, the din does not last long.
  • Blendtec, too, offers the quietest model of either line– the Stealth. If you really need a quiet machine, the Blendtec Stealth is your blender.

The prime difference between Blendtec vs Vitamix top blenders is their controls.

  • Most Vitamix blenders feature a range of full, manual control of the motor. The ten-speed dial and High/Low switch allow you to take charge of your creation.
  • The newer Vitamix blenders also come with five to eight pre-programmed blending cycles, as well as a Pulse button.
  • The blenders come with a cool auto-shutoff feature, which prevents the motor from burning out by working too hard.

Blendtec, on the other hand, comes with a touchscreen slider and a few presets. Everything is pretty much automatic.

  • With just a press of a button, you can walk away and come back to a prepared mixture. Plus the Pulse button allows you adjust to your exact taste.
  • The touchscreen’s best feature is how easy it makes the blender to clean.
  • There are no knobs or bumps for gunk to get caught on. Just wipe down the outside, and you’re good to go.
  • Blendtec’s built-in computer can also detect overheating, overloading, and jamming in the blade.

Blendtec and Vitamix both sell light and durable containers made of co polyester, BPA-free material. They typically do not absorb odors, but immediate clean-up is important to prevent this.

  • The standard package between Blendtec vs Vitamix top blenders comes with a 64-ounce jar, though the companies sell other options that vary in size and intended purpose. These are listed below.

All Vitamix blenders come with 4 sharp blades that are easily replaced if they become dull, but the Blendtec blender has no such worries.

  • The blades in the Blendtec blender are designed to be dull from the start, and can’t be removed from the blender base.
  • The cutting edge sharp Vitamix blades can be a little difficult to clean at times when you have to reach under the blades.
  • The lids are also a cool feature of the Blendtec and Vitamix blenders. Each line features “gripper” lids as well as removable chute in the top, which allows you to add ingredients while still blending.
  • The Vitamix lid is slightly more secure, as it snaps into place, and adds more room to the blender due to its design.
  • The Blendtec lid is suctioned flat, which means you should definitely not fill the Blendtec blenders to the brim.

Finally, each Vitamix blender comes with a patented tamper to help push solid and uncut foods through the blades without stopping the blender. The removable chute is perfectly sized for this, and makes it easy to get the perfect consistency.

Every Vitamix blender comes with a perfectly sized patented tamper, to assist in blending solid and whole (uncut) foods without stopping the blender by pushing it through the removable chute in the lid.

Blendtec blenders do not come with this option, but the Blendtec has created the Twister Jar to make it a fair fight. This Jar is specifically designed to redirect the food into the blades without having to use a tamper.
