Low Pro Vitamix Container vs Standard Vitamix Container

Vitamix has developed new and improved Vitamix Containers which you can now purchase for your older Vitamix machine. The new containers are smaller and more effective at blending your thicker blends without the need for a tamper.

The new Low Pro Vitamix container has a larger 4 inch blade and wider base and comes standard on the newer Vitamix blenders. The 48oz Vitamix container and 32 oz Vitamix container are shorter and are convenient for storage and have a similar design to the Low Profile container but are a but smaller with a 3 inch blade. So which Vitamix container is the best?

Hi, I’m Frank Musa, producer of the Blend Offs and am writing this short review on the newer Vitamix container models because I think you should know that they are an improvement and work better than the older Vitamix container. I’m just gonna shoot you straight, the new short Low Pro 64 oz Vitamix container is the best Vitamix Container and here’s way I think that…  It’s able to easily fit under your cabinets because it’s shorter than the tall 64oz Vitamix Container which Vitamix used for many many years before they came out with these new containers. It has a wide base where you can reach your whole hand into the blender container and easily clean around the blades. Also the blades are less sharp so you have less chance of cutting your fingers when cleaning. It seems to blend smoothies and juices easier with less tampering because of it’s wide base and 4 inch blade.

Vitamix Container Options

The 3 NEW Vitamix Containers that came onto the market in 2014 are the 64oz short low profile Vitamix Container which you can see in the picture above, the smaller but effective 48oz Vitamix Container, and the even smaller 32 ounce Vitamix Container.

The main things Vitamix changed with these new designs is that they made it easier for you to reach your hand and fingers in and around the blades which makes for easier cleaning. Vitamix slightly dulled the blades up to make them less sharp, and finally they made the new Vitamix Container models shorter so you can more easily fit your Vitamix blender under the cabinets.

Low Pro 64oz Vitamix Container is the Best

• Cleaning the low pro Vitamix Container is much much easier than cleaning the tall Vitamix Container.  The bigger 4 inch blade is slightly more dull than previous models and has a very wide bottom base which allows for your entire hand to comfortably fit down and around the blades. There is more space under the blades in this new model so you can reach under the blades with your fingers or sponge to get all that left over smoothie out. You’ll have less cuts on your fingers with the Low Pro Vitamix Container and will be able to clean the jar in less time. It’s safer, easier, and more convenient!
• The bigger, slightly thicker, 4 inch blade design makes for easier blending, the ingredients seem to get sucked into the blades easier and you have less trouble blending thicker and heavier blends or blends with a lot of larger whole foods. You will not need to use the tamper as much with the low pro Vitamix Container and if you do need to use the tamper, it is much easier to push the ingredients into the blade than the older model Vitamix container.
• Finally, the Low Profile Vitamix Container can fit under the cabinets more easily. The Blender measures 17.5 inches HIGH with the base and container together which when compared to the TALL Vitamix Container which measures 20.5 inches high with the blender base and container together, it is much shorter. A lot of the times with the bigger jar you end up storing it in the cabinets or keeping the jar separate from the blender base, which doesn’t look as good or becomes a hassle. A big thing with these high powered blenders is that you want them to sit on your counters so you see them everyday, if you see the blender you’ll use it. If it’s somewhere in the cabinets, you’ll probably never use it.
• The Low Profile Vitamix Container has the largest holding capacity from the rest of the Vitamix Containers, although the 48oz container blades are more easier to get around and have similar features as the low pro vitamix container, the blades are the low profile vitamix container are much bigger and can more easily suck down the ingredients without the help of the tamper. The wide base and larger blade design of the low pro Vitamix Container makes it the Best Vitamix Container for your Vitamix blender.

In Conclusion,

The Taller 64oz Vitamix Container is Vitamix’s original blending container and has been around for decades. Newer improvements on blending containers are putting this older model at a disadvantage. It’s tall size, smaller blades, and narrow base makes it more difficult for owners to clean, fit in tight places, and tamper with. When compared to the New Low Pro Vitamix Container which is shorter and can hold a larger capacity and is easier to clean and tamper with there really isn’t a need to go back to the older model.
